SEND Intervention Teacher job summary
We are seeking a skilled, reflective and compassionate SEND Intervention Teacher to join our inclusive team at Moulsecoomb Primary School. This is a full‑time, fixed‑term position, with the potential to be extended depending on school needs. The role focuses on supporting pupils with significant additional needs through high‑quality teaching and carefully planned, targeted interventions that enable pupils to make strong, sustained progress.
The school reserves the right to interview before the February half term if required, in order to secure a candidate before an associated resignation period.

About the Role
The SEND Intervention Teacher will take a lead role in planning, teaching and assessing targeted learning for individuals and small groups of pupils with significant additional needs. Pupils may present with a range of complex needs, including learning difficulties, SEMH, communication needs and other barriers to learning.
The postholder will work closely with dedicated members of educational support staff, providing leadership, direction and modelling of high‑quality practice. Together, the team will ensure that learning is appropriately adapted for a wide range of ages and developmental stages, enabling each pupil to access meaningful, well‑structured learning experiences.
The successful applicant will work closely with the SENDCo (line manager) and the Headteacher, contributing to a coordinated, child‑centred approach to inclusion.The successful applicant will receive full line‑management support, but we are also looking for someone who brings initiative, creativity and vision to help strengthen and shape our intervention work. We are seeking:
- A teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experiences of planning and teaching for pupils with complex or significant SEND
- Strong inclusive teaching practice and excellent curriculum adaptation
- Secure understanding of assessment and progress tracking in SEND

Moulsecoomb Primary School is an Academy within the City of Brighton and Hove, located on The Highway, Lewes Road, minutes walk from Moulsecoomb train station and excellent bus links.
