Ferndown Middle School is situated in Ferndown adjacent to Ferndown First and Ferndown Upper Schools. The school has up to 600 pupils, covering the age range 9 to 13 years old (year groups 5 to 8).

We are looking to appoint a SEND Lead to join our dedicated staff team. The key purpose of the role will be to:

  • Ensure that all students with Special Educational Needs (SEND) within the school are adequately supported.
  • Liaise with the school’s Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENDCo) and with staff, parents and outside agencies in order to ensure that best practice is achieved and that students with SEND receive optimal assistance.
  • Work with a range of stakeholders, parents, support staff, outreach agencies and other schools to ensure the continuity of support and progress of individual pupils.
  • This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who has a passion for education and wants to make a positive difference in the lives of young learners.

Contract: One-year fixed-term contract

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.00pm, Term Time plus INSED Days (39 weeks)
