Job Purpose

To assist the teacher in planning activities for children, working with children and assessing progress. To help ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.

May Park School is a large primary school in East Central Bristol; it is a diverse school with an onsite nursery. In January 2023, we opened our very own purpose built SEND Resource Base for children with ASC or SLCN.

About the Role

The SEND LSA role is within the school's brand-new purpose-built resource base for pupils with a primary need of Autism or Social Communication and Language Needs.

The role includes:

  • Supporting pupils one to one, in small groups and as a whole class (maximum 8 pupils)
  • Working with outside agencies such as Speech and Language and Occupational Therapists
  • Supporting teaching staff with planning with a half day of dedicated PPA time with your team
  • A curriculum that includes a weekly forest school session for all pupils
  • Regular training opportunities with specialised practitioners including the Bristol Autism Team
