What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
Experience supporting children with complex SEND needs in an educational setting, as a Teaching Assistant or in an equivalent role.
An NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants (or an equivalent qualification, in line with EYFS framework requirements)Check early years qualifications - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Specialist training and/or experience in a key area of SEND, such as: social, emotional and mental health; communication and interaction; cognition and learning; sensory and/or physical needs.
Experience of working with primary-aged pupils.
The ability to identify, implement and review appropriate interventions so pupils can meet their EHC plan outcomes and/or personal targets.
Confidence in coaching, modelling practice and supporting the development of staff.
A strong understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to keeping children safe.
A collaborative approach, working in partnership with teaching staff, other professionals, and external agencies/voluntary and service providers.
The ability to lead a hub/room provision, working directly with a group of pupils with SEND, and to plan for and deliver/support a curriculum that meets a range of needs.
