Bridge Learning Campus Primary is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Support Staff member to work primarily with SEND pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting children with a range of additional needs, both within the classroom and through targeted interventions. This is a varied and rewarding role where you will work closely with teachers, the SENDCo, and other professionals to ensure all pupils can access learning, develop independence, and thrive in a nurturing school environment.

What We’re Looking For

This role will suit someone who has experience of working with children, ideally in an educational or SEND setting, and who is passionate about helping every child achieve their potential. You may already have experience supporting pupils with additional needs, or you may be looking to step into this field with the willingness to learn quickly and adapt. Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships are essential. Training will be provided alongside a full induction programme, and you will be supported by our experienced SENDCo and wider team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of the SENDCo and class teachers to support pupils with SEND across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
  • Provide targeted in-class support to enable pupils to access learning and achieve personalised outcomes.
  • Deliver small-group or 1:1 interventions, focusing on areas such as literacy, numeracy, social skills, or emotional regulation.
  • Assist in the implementation of Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs), Behaviour Plans, and Personal Care Plans.
  • Promote inclusion by supporting pupils to participate fully in lessons and school life.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on pupil progress to teachers and the SENDCo.
  • Support pupils with personal care needs where required, following training.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Work closely with other professionals (e.g. speech and language therapists) when appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers and be part of the wider pastoral support for vulnerable pupils.

What We Offer

  • Enhanced CPD, including access to professional networks across the Trust
  • Paid induction and training suited to the role
  • Confidential access to an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Free parking
  • Use of the Cycle Scheme
  • Paid completion of a DBS check
  • Flu vaccination vouchers
  • Free eye tests (where the employee is desk-based)
  • Where eligible, automatic enrolment to the relevant pension scheme
  • Honouring of continuous service earned in the Local Authority

Fluency Duty

This role has been identified as falling within the definition of requiring fluency in spoken English. You will be required to speak English with confidence and be able to conduct a conversation and answer questions for extended periods of time using technical language where required.
