Welcome to Hope Wood Academy. The academy meets the needs of students aged 2-19 years with the range of special needs. I believe our greatest resource is our dedicated team of professionals who strive to provide the very best in education and well-being for all of our pupils. Our teaching staff, support staff and multi-disciplinary professionals are all trained in understanding and meeting the needs of students who have complex needs. We work with a wide range of external agencies to ensure our students and their families are well supported. We pride ourselves on getting to know our students and families very well to enhance their learning experience.
We have a broad and balanced curriculum offer that includes the National Curriculum, therapeutic input, and extra-curricular activity. The Academy is well-supported by a number of multi-disciplinary professionals offering speech and language therapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
We offer a range of curriculum pathways including accredited outcomes appropriate to individual pupil starting points and their aspirations for adulthood. The personal and social curriculum is underpinned by a range of accredited qualifications and/or experiences that develop independence skills, work based skills and community participation.
