What skills and experience we're looking for
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience of working with children with additional needs in an educational setting
Knowledge of strategies to support pupils with SEND, including autism, communication difficulties and social, emotional or behavioural needs
Ability to design and deliver an engaging, inclusive curriculum for pupils with complex needs
Strong knowledge of EYFS and/or KS1 curriculum, with flexibility to adapt to learners’ developmental stages
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, parents and external professionals
Organised, reflective and motivated to continue professional learning
Empathy, creativity and a genuine passion for inclusive education

Cedars Low Fell and Cedars High Heworth are part of Cedars Academy Trust. We educate children with complex needs from EYFS to Year 9 at our school in Low Fell and young people with complex needs in Key Stages 3 - 5 at High Heworth, Gateshead.
