About The Role

We are seeking an inspirational and dedicated SEND Provision Teacher to join our team at Featherby Primary, part of the Maritime Academy Trust. This is a unique opportunity to lead high-quality teaching and learning in our specialist provision, while also championing inclusion across the wider school community.

As our SEND Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver personalised, engaging learning sequences aligned with EHCP outcomes and the SEND Code of Practice.

  • Use a range of assessment approaches to track and celebrate small-step progress, adapting provision as needed.

  • Work closely with therapists and external professionals (SaLT, OT, CAMHS, EP) to embed strategies into daily classroom practice.

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with families, keeping them fully engaged in their child’s learning journey.

  • Promote inclusive practice across the school, contributing to staff CPD and modelling best practice.

  • Support the development of regulation and behaviour plans using trauma-informed, low-arousal and de-escalation approaches.

  • A qualified teacher with a passion for SEND and inclusive education.

  • Experienced (or confident to develop) in working with pupils with complex needs, including autism and SEMH.

  • Skilled at building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

  • Calm, reflective, and resilient — with a commitment to trauma-informed and child-centred practice.

  • A strong communicator who enjoys working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
