SEND Teaching Assistant Early Years job summary
We are looking for a caring and patient Teaching Assistant to support the teaching and learning of pupils with Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 or small group basis. This is a wonderful opportunity for a talented individual to work with specific children in our Early Years team, and make a real difference to their achievement, by challenging barriers to learning.
This is a fixed term position in the first instance, starting in January 2024.
This post would suit a graduate interested in working with children or potentially going into teacher training.
This is a wonderful opportunity for an ambitious and hard working individual to support teaching and learning, working with a range of children with different backgrounds, abilities and needs. You would support in all subjects and would be guided by our brilliant teachers.
The hours are 8.30am to 3.45pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 1.15pm on Friday (term time only), 31.25 hours per week in total. The actual annual salary is £16,481.
The closing date for applications is 6th December, or earlier if a suitable candidate is appointed.
Candidates will need to:
- Have some experience or knowledge of working with children
- Be able to communicate well with pupils, colleagues and parents
- Have gained at least a Grade C or above (or the equivalent of) in GCSE English and maths
