SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary SEND Focus job summary

We are seeking to recruit a Primary SEND specialist to join our highly successful Intervention team to work with a student with Global Developmental Delay who accesses a specialist, bespoke curriculum in our mainstream setting. This would involve working with a Primary SEND specialist teacher, the SENCo and external agencies to support the planning and delivery of an appropriate curriculum as well to support participation in mainstream lessons where appropriate.

This is a part time role (0.7) with some flexibility as to which days or times would be worked.

We work throughout the school to develop and support effective practice for students with SEND. We consistently secure rapid progress from a range of SEND students, by building strong relationships and understanding their own personal development and learning styles. This is supported by SEND Intervention Coaches through a combination of in-class support, small group and 1 -1 interventions, mentoring and maintaining strong parental partnerships. Our team have a range of experience; from people new to the role to people with experience in adult, secondary and primary education. Whatever their experience they have high ambitions for the progress and participation in school life for all students with SEND.
