SEND Teaching Assitant job summary

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant who is able to support the learning of two children with SEND in a mixed Year 3/4 class. There will also be opportunities to work more generally within the class, supporting small groups and individuals. .
The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner with experience of working with children with complex needs and who is dedicated to enabling children to achieve their personal best.
They will:
Work with individual children, including children with SEND and EHCPs.
Be able to work as part of a team
Prepare learning materials and adapt teaching support according to children’s needs
Look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare- including first aid duties
Be creative and innovative
Have high expectations of achievement and behaviour
Be committed to promoting and upholding the school values and ethos
Promote and support the inclusion of all pupils, including those with specific needs.
Be motivated and passionate to achieve the very best for the children in our care and make a genuine difference
Use initiative to assess and evaluate pupils’ needs
Lead intervention groups
