We are seeking to appoint a passionate and experienced primary teacher, to work as part of our Inclusion Team, who will work collaboratively to develop and grow our SEND Unit provision for our students in key stage 3 which is designed to support children with additional needs in a nurturing and inclusive setting.
The purpose of this provision is to provide bespoke curriculum provision and support for pupils who have Cognition and Learning as their named SEND need and provide enhanced support for students to enable them to access the wider mainstream curriculum as appropriate.
We are seeking to employ an experienced primary teacher who has the passion and expertise in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, particularly Cognition and Learning and Social, Emotional and Mental Health. The successful candidate will have the chance to innovate and introduce new teaching strategies, including outdoor learning and sensory-based approaches and will join a team consisting of teachers and learning support staff in the Pinecone area of the academy where they will work collaboratively with the Unit Lead to support all staff in developing the highest quality provision.
This is an exciting role and is seen as a key appointment in developing the progress of SEND students within the academy. The role is based at Shirebrook Academy and will involve working collaboratively with other academies within the trust.
Visits are welcomed please contact Katy Wright, Executive Principal (ACET) katy.wright@astoncetrust.org 07715426781 if you have any questions regarding the role.
