We are looking for a dedicated and inspirational SENDCO to join our highly committed team and further develop our provision and outcomes for children with SEND at the school.

 

About the role:

We are looking for an exceptional and experienced SENDCO to fully support the Head of School and be part of the Leadership team of Ark Ayrton Primary. You will work closely alongside the SLT to ensure that children with SEND are able to make rapid progress in line with the academy’s expectations.

 

In this non-class based role, you will be responsible for continuing strong SEND provision and its development across the school as well as contributing to overall leadership of the school. Teaching responsibilities will include small, targeted groups.

 

Ideal candidates will have:

·         A minimum of two years’ experience and hold QTS

·         The National Award for SEN Co-ordination

·         Experience of working with children with Special Needs

·         Thorough knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice

·         The ability to lead and support staff in developing their knowledge and expertise in working with SEND children

·         Skilful in working with pupils with a range of different abilities and needs – SEND, LAC, Pupil Premium, EAL, SEMH

·         To work effectively with the Head of School and SLT to achieve excellence

·         Proven experience of line managing support staff

·         Good communication skills and an ability to work within a team and maintain effective relationships with parents and carers

·         Good management and organisational skills and experience of leading/managing other staff.

·         The necessary communication skills enabling liaison with a variety of external agencies
