Biggleswade Academy is an independent, state funded Academy providing truly comprehensive education and wrap-around care for children aged 2-13. We provide statutory mainstream education for around 1010 pupils as well as giving approximately370 session places at the Academy pre-school. All of our teachers deliver high quality learning experiences for our pupils and help us develop a truly 21st Century Curriculum where high standards and expectations are a must.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative educational professional to effectively lead and manage the SEND provision across Reception to Year 8 of the Academy, plus oversight of our preschool and nursery provisions, as well as a small teaching commitment each week, the successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience of working with pupils with a range of additional needs and have an excellent knowledge of the SEND agenda.

  • Hold (or be working towards) the National SENDCo Qualification.

  • Have the ability to lead and manage a large and experienced team of learning support assistants and work closely with families and professionals.

  • Work closely with the Leader of Learning of our ASD Provision.
