Outwood Academy Acklam, Middlesbrough seeks applications from outstanding applicants who possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of Students First: raising standards and transforming lives. Working alongside the existing SENDCo, this role is a key appointment in ensuring the positive life chances of our students through success and achievement.
We have a holistic and inclusive approach to the work that we do. The Academy has received accolades and external recognition, with the awarding of the Inclusion Quality Mark - Centre of Excellence, alongside the Carnegie ‘Gold’ Mental Health Award for the work we do to support our diverse and dynamic student body. The Academy has a Higher Needs Base, providing additional support for students with moderate learning difficulties and/ or those on the Autistic Spectrum (ASD).
As such we are keen to recruit a dedicated and ambitious professional who will add value to the academy. A passion for supporting our most vulnerable students and those with barriers to learning is essential. This outstanding individual will provide expert advice, modelled through outstanding teaching to develop the practice of all staff and will work closely with our dedicated inclusion team to support our students.
We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified SENDCo or someone with a willingness to achieve the National Award for SEN Coordination.
