We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated SENDCo to join our team on a 0.4 contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and coordinating provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring that all pupils receive high‑quality, inclusive support that enables them to achieve their best.

The SENDCo will work closely with the Headteacher, staff, families and external agencies to promote effective identification, assessment and provision for pupils with SEND, in line with the SEND Code of Practice. This role is both strategic and operational, with a focus on improving outcomes and inclusion across the school.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the strategic development of SEND provision across the school
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory SEND requirements and maintaining accurate records
  • Coordinating the identification, assessment and review of pupils with SEND
  • Supporting and advising staff on inclusive classroom practice and effective interventions
  • Monitoring the progress and wellbeing of pupils with SEND and evaluating the impact of provision
  • Liaising effectively with parents/carers and external professionals
  • Contributing to safeguarding, equality and inclusion agendas

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold, or be willing to work towards, the National Award for SEN Coordination
  • Have a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
  • Be an excellent communicator and collaborative team member
  • Demonstrate a commitment to inclusive education and high aspirations for all pupils

This post would suit an experienced SENDCo or an experienced teacher ready to take on, or further develop, a leadership role in SEND within a supportive school environment.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an effective and reflective classroom practitioner
  • Has a strong understanding of the primary curriculum
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive team

In addition to this role, a 0.4 class teacher position is also being advertised. The school would welcome applications from candidates interested in combining both roles, subject to suitability and experience.
