SENDCO job summary

We are a happy, vibrant and inclusive school with an enthusiastic staff team. We are passionate about the care and education of our young people and the support and development of our staff. Applicants should be committed to championing the needs of SEND pupils, supporting our staff team to ensure that SEND practice is as strong as it can be, and working closely and empathetically with families. We are looking for a leader who can build positive relationships with all members of the school community, and who has a calm approach whilst responding to the needs of the pupils and school. The successful applicant will be part of our inclusion team and part of our Senior Leadership Team.

Our school is situated in a beautiful brand-new building, and it is an exciting time to join our school as we continue to grow and develop. We have a dedicated inclusion team led by our Assistant Head, this includes a pastoral lead and two trained ELSA’s. We also have a wonderful nurture base called The Orchard which provides our children with pastoral support and a safe space. We have recently secured funding to develop a sensory room.

We are part of the Faringdon Learning Trust, an nine school multi-academy trust, which was established on 1st April 2012. Faringdon Learning Trust offers an extensive programme of professional development for staff at all stages of their career from NQT, to those looking to develop middle and senior leadership skills. Being a part of the trust also provides us with further support including a home school link worker, safeguarding lead and inclusion lead.
