What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to appoint an excellent candidate who:
- can support SEND children and their families through identifying barriers to learning and adopting strategies that help overcome these
- can demonstrate a commitment to inclusive education for all children through working with staff and families to formulate personal plans for improvement
- has knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and understands the EHCP process and Early Help services to support pupils and families
- can work alongside teachers to provide advice and develop impactful class strategies
- can monitor and evaluate the quality and impact of SEND provision across the school
- can form positive relationships; inspires and motivates all children to enable them to be the best that they can be
- will attend meetings with parents, teachers and other providers to ensure all pupils’ needs are met
- will work with the wider team to close the gap for vulnerable and disadvantaged learners
- holds or would be interested in working towards the National SENDCo Qualification (guidance and time would be given to support this)
