What skills and experience we're looking for
Horbury Academy are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring SENDCo to lead and manage the provision for pupils with special educational and additional needs.
You will ensure high quality learning and improve outcomes and achievement for all pupils. This is a real opportunity to join a vibrant and forward-thinking team.
We value challenge and active participation. The successful applicant will ensure high standards of achievement and progress for all SEND pupils and disseminating best practice across the Academy including whole staff training as required.
We offer an extensive programme of academy and Trust Professional Development to ensure all colleagues continue to develop as practitioners and have opportunities to work collaboratively across subjects and across academies within our Trust.
We are an inclusive academy and Trust and embrace opportunities to develop all colleagues on their journey to success. All newly appointed teaching colleagues receive a bespoke onboarding induction including their first day off timetable to ensure sufficient time and preparation can take place.

Horbury is part of the Accord Multi Academy Trust which is a Wakefield based Trust; all four academies in the Trust are closely located to one another which lends itself to many opportunities to work closely and collaboratively. All academies are within a three-mile radius of one another and can be found a short drive off junction 40 of the M1.
Horbury Academy is a mixed, 11-16 academy, situated on the outskirts of Wakefield.
We are immensely proud of our academy, staff and students and strongly believe that all students are entitled to experience the full breadth of education; reflected through our curriculum model that encourages learners to study a broad range of subjects.
