What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a hard-working candidate who is dedicated to ensuring that all young people benefit from a high-quality education, no matter what their barriers to learning. You will have previous experience of leading projects, working with a range of colleagues to improve outcomes for young people, and you will have an excellent knowledge of SEND practices and policies, particularly around SEMH and Communication and Interaction. This is a leadership role, and to be successful, you will be solution-focused and have an understanding of how schools, colleges, the local authority and other providers can work together to provide excellent opportunities.

This will include supporting schools to develop inclusive approaches within their schools, as well as working with a wide range of partners within the Locality Board and beyond to develop systems which help all children to engage with their education. The role is part time for three days a week, although there is flexibility around this, and the exact structure of the working week will be agreed with the successful candidate and their current employer.
