SENDCo job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role within the SEND provision at Kingsway Park High School, supporting the continued development of an inclusive, ambitious and student-centred approach to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities across the school.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Assistant Headteacher - SENDCo to lead and manage high-quality provision for students with SEND, ensuring barriers to learning are identified and removed so that all students can thrive both academically and personally.

The SENDCo will play a central role in shaping inclusive practice, supporting staff development and ensuring students with additional needs receive effective, personalised support.
This role would suit an experienced and passionate practitioner who is committed to inclusive education, values strong relationships and is driven by improving outcomes and life chances for young people with SEND.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage provision for students with SEND across the school
Support the implementation and development of the school’s SEND strategy and inclusive practice
Oversee assessment, identification, intervention and review processes for students with SEND
Ensure EHCPs and SEND support plans are implemented effectively and reviewed in line with statutory requirements
Lead, support and develop members of the SEND team, including HLTAs and Teaching Assistants
Deliver and coordinate SEND training and support for teaching and support staff
Monitor student progress and evaluate the impact of SEND interventions and provision
Work collaboratively with families, external agencies and wider school teams to support student outcomes
Promote inclusive teaching approaches and adaptive practice across the curriculum
Support students’ social, emotional and mental health needs alongside wider pastoral teams
What We Are Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status
National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENDCO) / NPQ SENDCo, or willingness to complete within three years
Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive education within a mainstream setting
Experience working with students with SEND and coordinating effective support and interventions
Experience working collaboratively with external professionals and agencies
Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
Ability to support, challenge and develop colleagues to improve inclusive classroom practice
A resilient, reflective and values-driven practitioner committed to improving outcomes for all students
