The Role

As SENDCo, you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership of SEND provision, ensuring high-quality support and strong outcomes for all students with additional needs
  • Drive a culture of inclusion, ensuring adaptive teaching is consistently strong across the curriculum
  • Lead and develop a skilled team, including teaching assistants and intervention staff
  • Oversee EHCP processes, annual reviews and external agency engagement with rigour and precision
  • Use data intelligently to identify need, evaluate impact and refine provision
  • Work closely with senior leaders to ensure SEND is central to school improvement and Ofsted readiness
  • Build strong relationships with families, ensuring they are valued partners in their child’s education

  • Holds (or is working towards) the National Award for SEND Coordination (NASENCO)
  • Has a proven track record of impactful SEND leadership in a secondary setting
  • Demonstrates deep understanding of inclusive pedagogy and adaptive teaching
  • Is highly organised, resilient and able to lead with clarity and compassion
  • Can articulate and evidence the impact of provision on student outcomes
  • Is committed to delivering excellence for all students, particularly the most vulnerable
