SENDCO job summary

New Brighton Primary School is seeking to appoint a current SENCO, who has previous experience of SEND with the National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination to join our team. This will be a non- teaching commitment to reflect the requirements of this important role within the school which contains two SEN bases.
Applicants will have an excellent understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and recent Green Paper changes, including an understanding of pupil progress and a willingness to embrace change; be open to new approaches to teaching and learning and have an excellent understanding and knowledge of a wide range of SEND needs.
As the SENCO, you will help to shape the future vision of New Brighton Primary School, promote excellence, equality and the highest expectations for our pupils and staff. You will continue to develop the excellent work already embedded within our school to ensure that all pupils benefit from an inclusive education.
You will be a creative thinker, emotionally intelligent, highly organised and above all, passionate about improving the quality of pupils’ education.
We provide exceptional learning environments and facilities enhanced by a strong community spirit. This positive culture permeates all aspects of school life and the promotion of learning which takes account of the needs of all learners.
As a qualified and experienced SENCO, you will be responsible for continuing to develop and lead our SEND provision.
