Notre Dame High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, strategic and passionate SENDCo who will lead and manage the school’s provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring high-quality inclusive practice across the school and improving outcomes for all learners with SEND.

The successful candidate will provide strategic direction and operational leadership of SEND provision, ensuring full compliance with the SEND Code of Practice (0-25) and the Equality Act 2010. You will work closely with the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team, pastoral leaders and curriculum staff to embed a truly inclusive culture where every student is supported to achieve their full potential.

As SENDCo, you will oversee identification, assessment and provision for students with SEND, ensuring a robust graduated approach (Assess-Plan-Do-Review), effective intervention strategies, and accurate record keeping. You will take a lead role in EHCP processes, including annual reviews, and act as the main point of contact with the Local Authority and external agencies.

You will line manage SEND staff, support teachers in adapting teaching and learning, and provide high-quality professional guidance to colleagues. A key aspect of the role is monitoring the quality of provision and its impact, using data to drive improvement and secure strong outcomes for students.

Working in partnership with families will be central to your role, ensuring clear communication and strong collaboration. You will also work closely with external professionals, representing the school in multi-agency meetings and ensuring coordinated, effective support for students.

The successful candidate will champion inclusion and equality, ensuring that SEND students are fully supported within safeguarding systems and that barriers to learning, attendance and wellbeing are effectively addressed.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated and supportive team committed to delivering excellence within a caring, faith-centred community.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is Friday 10th July at midday.

Interviews will be held week commencing 13th July 2026.
