Richard Barnes Academy is seeking a passionate and experienced SENDCo to champion our commitment to inclusive education. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact across either our primary phase (part-time, 60%) or both primary and secondary (full-time), with flexible working options to suit your lifestyle.

Your role:

As SENDCo, you will lead the strategic development and day-to-day operation of our SEN policy, ensuring high-quality support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. You’ll work closely with our current SENDCo, staff, families, and external agencies to embed outstanding, consistent practice across the academy. You’ll be a key figure in fostering a culture where “SEN/D is everybody’s business,” promoting inclusion and shared responsibility.

You are a qualified teacher with a strong track record in SEND provision, ideally holding or working towards the National Award for SEN Co-ordination. You’ll bring deep knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, excellent communication, collaboration and leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to drive continuous improvement and inclusive education.
