What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic SENDCO or an experienced teacher who is willing to complete the SENDCO qualification within 3 years of starting the job. EYFS and Key Stage 1 experience is essential due to the school being an infant school.


It is essential that the person has excellent written communication skills as paper work is a key aspect of this role and will include applying for EHCP plans, support plans and written evidence. It is also essential that the post holder is confident in speaking to Ofsted inspectors about SEN provision in school and the rationale behind support arrangements for individual and groups of children.

The person must have a extensive knowledge of the needs of SEN children and interventions that are appropriate for each of the differing needs.

We are an infant school in Brackley that is a standalone academy. All teachers are passionate and specialists in early years education. We have two classes in each year group with a large school hall. The EYFS area has its own outside area which can be accessed at all times. The school has a well resourced Forest school which is used throughout the week. We are a close working team where being a team player is essential.
