About this Role
We are looking for an experienced teacher with a passion for working with pupils with special educational needs and disabilities to join our friendly and supportive team. Working closely with the head teacher and other senior colleagues, you'll use your leadership skills to manage SEND provision, working directly with children and modelling effective inclusive teaching strategies to all members of staff. Your responsibilities will include designing and delivering interventions with pupils in the classroom and implementing our school improvement priorities to improve outcomes for students with SEND.
You will be someone who is committed to raising standards for all students and has strong leadership and organisational skills.
Must hold QTS and NPQ SENDCo Award. This post is not suitable for an ECT.
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience in liaising with SEND Teams in local authorities.
Experience in coordinating pupil-centred annual reviews and providing timely reports.
Experience in understanding and supporting children across the 4 broad areas of need.
Demonstrable experience in raising outcomes for pupils with SEND in a classroom environment and across a setting.
Working knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures, the national curriculum, key stage requirements and Code of Practice for SEND.
The ability to provide regular updates on pupil progress through written reports and meetings with parents.
Confidence to lead professional development through example and support, and co-ordinate the provision of high-quality professional development by methods such as coaching, drawing on other sources of expertise as necessary.
Enthusiasm and commitment to improving educational outcomes for pupils with special educational needs.
An abundance of energy, initiative, vision and drive.
A keen understanding of wellbeing for students and staff.
