Our opportunity
We are seeking to appoint Senior Achievement Support Assistants at Brompton Hall School based near Scarborough. Supporting pupils and teachers in the classroom and small Nurture groups.
This is a wonderfully varied post as you will have the opportunity to engage with different class teachers and year groups. You will be required to use your initiative working with small groups, as well at times within the full class. Working under the instructions and guidance of teaching staff within and outside of the classroom. You will use your skills to enhance the learning opportunities of the children and the academic, social, emotional and development of individuals and groups of pupils, understanding clearly how pupils’ learn.
You will be highly organised with the ability to:
- Work well as a team and also use initiative
- Be able to build strong relationships with children
- Manage challenging behaviour positively
- Motivate and develop the children in your care
- Be passionate about seeing young people succeed
- Be emotionally resilient
You will need:
- GCSE English and maths, Grade A-C (or equivalent – eg Certificate in Adult Literacy / Numeracy Level 2)
- NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
- Safeguarding level 1
- Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour and special needs
- Understanding of National Curriculum, and other codes of practice eg SEN, Equalities
