We are looking for a Senior Curriculum Lead - English. This role will provide strategic leadership of the English curriculum across the academy, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning that drives student progress. The role includes line management of the Head of English and oversight of whole-academy numeracy, contributing to cross-curricular development and literacy-numeracy integration.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic development and delivery of the English curriculum across all key stages
- Line manage the Head of English, providing guidance, support, and challenge to raise standards
Monitor and evaluate teaching quality, curriculum impact, and student outcomes in English
Drive innovation in pedagogy, curriculum design, and assessment practices
Lead departmental improvement planning and contribute to whole-school priorities.
- Teaching & Learning Excellence - Model outstanding practice, lead CPD and coaching, and drive innovative strategies to improve teaching quality and student outcomes
- Assessment & Data Ensure robust assessment systems are in place, using data to inform teaching and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement a coherent literacy strategy across subjects and year groups in the Academy.
Pay range: L9 - L14 (Fringe) £64,500 - £72,763
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified teacher status or recognised equivalent.
- Proven track record and outstanding outcomes in your subject area.
- Strong understanding of curriculum planning and assessment.
- Experienced in leading curriculum development and staff training.
- Experience line managing curriculum leaders.
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills .
