Senior HR Officer job summary

Post Title: Senior HR Officer

To manage the Trust HR provision by providing professional skills and specialist subject knowledge (including employment law legislation). To support the CEO/leaders with regards to operational and strategic HR related matters with integrity to provide an effective HR service to all stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

Provide HR guidance and support to the CEO, Head of schools, to ensure a consistent and timely approach across the Trust.

Provide advice, information and guidance on all aspects of HR management and employment, such as terms and conditions of employment and family related leave, for both teaching and associate staff, enabling Managers at all levels to ensure optimal engagement and deployment of staff.

Managing absence, including processing Occupational Health referrals and supporting line managers in absence related meetings and welfare visits.

Carrying out statutory HR reporting, including workforce census, ensuring data is accurate and provided to time.

What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience in HR leadership, preferably within education, other public sector organisations or charities.

Strong knowledge all employment laws and best practices.

Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.

A collaborative leader with exceptional communication abilities.

CIPD qualification.

Start Date: 1st May 2026

Hours: 37 hours per week, 5 days per week, Term Time Only + 10 Days

Job Type: Fixed Term linked to growth plans

Working Days: Monday - Friday 08:30am - 16:30pm, with a 30 minute unpaid break

Salary Grade: NJC L7 - £34,000 per anum actual salary plus pension benefits and family private healthcare
