All about the role:

The Senior HR Partner will support the HR Director to create an outstanding organisation that promotes excellence, develops its staff and provides exceptional service to our schools. This is a new role within the Trust Central Team, and will provide the successful candidate an opportunity to make it their own.

Key functions of the role are to:

  • Provide an excellent day to day HR advisory and support service to Headteachers, Senior Leadership Teams and the Central Team within the Trust
  • Effectively manage an HR caseload ensuring effective and positive outcomes to issues that arise
  • Ensure HR matters are compliant with all statutory requirements and the Trust’s agreed systems, policies and processes
  • Develop HR management information to enable effective performance measures and targeting of resources
  • Effectively support the HR Director with organisational change and TUPE transfers for joining schools, supporting and demonstrating excellence in the HR aspects
  • Develop supporting documents and templates covering regular HR functions including policies, letter templates and proformas

To be successful in the role, you’ll be someone who has:

  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent relevant degree level qualification
  • Significant experience of providing complex employee relations/generalist HR advice and guidance to Senior Leaders
  • A proven track record of working within Human Resources in a large or growing medium sized organisation
  • Extensive experience of managing a caseload of HR cases from start to finish achieving successful outcomes
  • Experience of providing and HR Service to schools, which would be a distinct advantage
  • Successful experience of positive and effective working relationships with Trade Unions
  • An understanding and experience of applying Employment and / or Education Law to policy development
  • Experience of training and developing staff to carry out line management responsibilities

You’ll be someone who can work and influence at all levels within and outside the organisation, forming sound relationships with staff and the wider school community. You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight and / or changing deadlines.

This role will involve contact with children and the post holder will be engaged in regulated activity relevant to children and will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check before appointment is confirmed. We will only submit a DBS application to the relevant disclosure service when a position is accepted.
