Senior ICT Technician job summary
Purpose of the Role
To provide day-to-day management of ICT Support Office and staff deployment, as well as management and maintenance of hardware and software. The postholder will also have responsibility for the audio-visual equipment throughout the school.
Technical Skills Requirements
Working knowledge of ICT hardware and operating systems, Windows 11, Apple Mac OS and MS server 2019
Confident user of a variety of desktop applications. Working knowledge of Microsoft Applications
Organisation skills in relation to systems, users and equipment
Main Areas of Responsibility
Day-to-day trouble shooting and maintenance of one off hardware and software issues
Oversight of repairs and maintenance budget (currently £3,000)
Planning for large-scale maintenance projects in partnership with the Network Manager
Resolving support calls from staff on an ad hoc daily basis. Escalating and liaising with third party support, eg RM and Switchstop, to resolve ICT and network issues
Integration and set up of new and replacement hardware within the school
Deliver staff training and guidance documents to support staff
Overall responsibility for website maintenance and development
Overall responsibility for recording/photographing school events
Assisting in the backing up and restoration of school data, ensuring sensitivity and security at all times
Overall responsibility of the management/configuration and deployment of MDM web-based server for iPads and Chrome book devices
To ensure adequate ICT support is provided to event and activities co-ordinators
Overall responsibility for setting up recording of GCSE/A Level Drama/Music Examinations (conditions adhered to) in conjunction with Director of Music
Amend working hours when required by the Network Manager in order to facilitate vital school operations (with notice)
About the Role
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week, Term time plus two weeks only
Salary: Range from £22,668 to £24,614 per annum (inclusive of annual outer fringe allowance)
