Title: Senior Intervention Assistant

Location: Peak School, Buxton Road, Chinley, High Peak, Derbyshire, SK23 6ES

Grade/Scale: Grade 08 (Point 12 - 15): Support Actual Salary £25,556 - £27,252 per annum

Contract: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term Time Only)

Peak School, part of the Esteem Multi-Academy Trust, is a Nursery to Post-16 special school academy located in the village of Chinley, in the north-west corner of Derbyshire. We support children and young people with a wide range of special educational needs, including pupils with significant learning, communication and interaction difficulties.

Peak School is looking to appoint a Senior Intervention Assistant (Level 8). The successful candidate will be a positive, adaptable and compassionate individual who is committed to making a meaningful difference to the lives of our pupils. They will work closely alongside teachers to support learning and provision within the classroom, while also supporting and guiding other staff within the team.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant Care or Teaching Assistant qualification, such as an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent), alongside experience of supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including physical disabilities, communication difficulties, learning needs and behaviours that may challenge. The successful candidate will share our strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
