Lead Teaching Assistants job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for Lead Teaching Assistants to join the team at Fox Grove School. As a Lead Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in bringing out the best in all your pupils.
Working Pattern:
33.25 hours per week/39 weeks per year
Working Pattern: 8.45am - 3.45pm with a 30 minute unpaid break Monday, Tuesday Thursday and Fridays. Wednesdays 8.45am-4.30pm with a 30 minute unpaid break
Fox Grove School are looking for Lead Teaching Assistants from a range of backgrounds:
Teaching assistants who have experience of working in specialist centres/special schools/mainstream schools
Candidates with an interest in a specific EHCP area, taking a lead and imparting knowledge to colleagues
Candidates who want to support the development of learning support assistants within their class teams and across the school
Fox Grove will support your professional development to become outstanding classroom practitioners, this includes:

Provide an opportunity for you to be a lead practitioner in your EHCP area of interest e.g., communication and to share this expertise with others.

TEACCH – supporting pupil independence.
- Behaviour for Learning – providing the best universal supports.
- Being a compassionate school
- Semi-formal and / or formal curriculum
- Pedagogy of reading, writing and mathematics.
- Targeted interventions (Attention Autism, Augmented Communication, Zones of Regulation, Social Thinking and Emotion Coaching)
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English and Maths) or equivalent.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., first aid, behaviour management) are advantageous.
- Proficiency in IT tools and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to guide less experienced colleagues and work collaboratively in a team.
- Prior experience in an educational or similar environment.
