Do you have a desire to work as part of a team supporting young people in our school?

We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant who is ready to take the next step into leadership as a Senior LSA within our Inclusion team.

You will play a key role in leading the Communication and Interaction strand of SEND, overseeing interventions for students with speech, language and communication needs. You will also act as the link with the Surrey SALT team and ASD Outreach Service, working closely to support student progress.

This role combines leadership and hands-on classroom support. You will spend much of your timetable in class, supporting students to access learning and modelling effective strategies for the wider LSA team. You will also line manage a small group of LSAs and contribute to developing best practice across the department.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the educational and personal outcomes of our students, while developing your own leadership skills within a highly supportive and inclusive environment.

We offer a comprehensive induction and ongoing professional development, with opportunities to collaborate closely with our SENCo and Assistant SENCo. This vacancy arises following the internal promotion of one of our Senior LSAs, reflecting our commitment to developing and recognising talent within the team. We are proud of our collaborative approach, close partnerships with external professionals, and our shared belief that every student deserves to thrive — academically, socially and emotionally.

Esher High is an excellent performing school and is proud to be part of Enlighten Learning Trust (ELT). Esher High School has a strong reputation for supporting students with additional needs through our highly valued and expanding SEND department. The team includes a SENCo, Assistant SENCo, and three Senior LSAs, each leading a strand of need (Cognition & Learning, Communication & Interaction, SEMH and physical and sensory).

Please refer to the Job Description for further details regarding this role and how to apply. We welcome early applications and will consider holding interviews and appointing before the closing date for strong candidates.
