Senior Network Manager job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT professional to step into a senior leadership role supporting schools across the River Learning Trust.

The successful candidate will play a key part in shaping and delivering IT services that directly enhance teaching, learning, and school operations. The blend of site-based support and Trust-wide strategic work makes this a uniquely varied opportunity.

You’ll spend two days a week embedded in a secondary school, one day supporting local primary schools, and the remainder of your time focused on cross-Trust projects and IT development. You’ll lead and mentor technical staff, drive the adoption of Google for Education, and ensure that infrastructure, systems, and support services meet the needs of staff and students. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys blending hands-on technical work, team leadership and the opportunity to shape IT across a growing and forward-thinking Trust.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Have significant experience managing IT networks, infrastructure, and support services across multiple sites

  • Relevant certifications (e.g. Google Certified Educator, Microsoft MSCE) or equivalent

  • Strong working knowledge of Windows and Chrome OS environments

  • Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills

  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to prioritise and work independently

  • Previous experience working within a school or multi-academy trust IT environment

  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between school sites
