Senior Operating Officer job summary

The Role

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Operating Officer to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and effective running of our school. This is a senior, non-teaching role, and while previous experience in education is not essential, a commitment to supporting a thriving school community is key.

Reporting directly to the Headteacher, you will lead the development and delivery of the school’s operational systems, ensuring they are efficient, well-coordinated and support high-quality decision-making across the school community.

This is a senior, non-teaching role where your leadership will have a direct impact on staff, students and the wider community.

  • Operational Leadership
  • Staffing and Timetabling
  • Data & Strategic Reporting
  • Student Experience & Enrichment
  • Compliance, Health & Safety
  • Partnership & Community Engagement

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience managing data systems and operational processes
  • Demonstrates strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Is confident analysing and presenting data to inform decisions
  • Has experience coordinating teams, events or complex operations
  • Understands health & safety and compliance requirements
  • Communicates effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Remains calm under pressure and thrives in a busy environment
