Astrea Academy Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Senior Pastoral Year Leader to lead our pastoral team and champion scholar wellbeing, behaviour, and progress.
About the RoleAs Senior Pastoral Year Leader, you will:
- Lead and mentor a team of Pastoral Year Leaders, modelling high expectations and professional excellence.
- Take co-responsibility for a specific year group, working alongside the Academic Year Leader to ensure every scholar thrives.
- Drive high standards of behaviour, attendance, and academic progress across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external agencies to provide tailored support and interventions.
- Champion a culture of celebration, inclusion, and aspiration for all scholars.
- GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) and education to A-Level/Level 3 standard.
- Experience working with KS3/4 scholars in a pastoral capacity.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
- A calm, confident, and empathetic approach to supporting young people.
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and the values of Astrea Academy Sheffield.

This is a permanent, full-time role (37 hours/week, 40 weeks/year), starting in September 2025.
