What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, hardworking and flexible premises/facilities professional who is excited to take on a new and pivotal role within a dynamic secondary school Premises Team. Our Senior Premises Officer will work under the direction of the Assistant School Business Manager and deputise in their absence on caretaking and site management issues. They will play a key role in enhancing our facilities, maintaining compliance and ensuring the school’s operational excellence. The successful candidate will have excellent skills in time management and organisation and be able to support the Assistant School Business Manager to help delegate tasks and coordinate the daily operations and management of our buildings and grounds.
Strong practical skills and premises/caretaker experience in DIY e.g. basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical and painting and decorating is crucial to the role. Successful candidates will be able to upskill and provide practical skills training to other team members and be motivated to work well both independently and as a key part of our Premises team. Excellent communication skills and the ability to form positive relationships within the school community are also essential.
