What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a Senior School Leader to work within the Trust. This role could be either permanent or a fixed term contract, depending on the person appointed. The senior leader's primary focus will be on developing culture and ethos and ensuring exemplary behaviour and attendance within a GLT school or group of schools. It is a very unique and rewarding role and superb preparation for further promotion and Headship.

Greenshaw Learning Trust is a highly successful multi academy trust that provides excellent quality, comprehensive, non-selective and inclusive education through primary schools and secondary schools. Our schools are based in London, Surrey, Berkshire, Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire, Bristol and Plymouth.

We also have three shared service hubs with remote / hybrid working opportunities where appropriate. We are building a family of like-minded schools, that collaborate to provide mutual support, share their good practice and learn from each other, whilst retaining and developing their own distinctive character. Main responsibilities:

  • demonstrate a passion for education and a desire to improve the life chances of all students
  • can build a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • adapt rapidly to the challenge of building on the existing strengths of the school to achieve all round excellence
  • assess their approach and challenge themselves to think differently about how to best align their leadership to the needs of the school
  • to empower and motivate staff
  • maintain and develop the school's ethos of diversity, inclusivity, and equality of opportunity
  • Be a highly visible presence around the school and model expectations of staff and students

You will also work collaboratively as a member of the school(s) senior leadership team to raise standards of behaviour, manage staff, model best practice for teachers and ensure systems and process are fit for purpose.

You will need:

  • Degree
  • Teaching qualification (QTS)
  • Commitment to own self development
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategies for raising achievement and achieving excellence for students, staff and self
  • to have experience in data analysis and target setting
  • to have used evidence-based information about effective learning and assessment, improving behaviour, and identifying barriers to learning.
  • Leading schools in improving outcomes for all students, especially those labelled disadvantaged
