Senior Science Technician job summary

If you are a motivated individual with the ability to be a team player and show initiative, with a good knowledge of Biology, Chemistry and Physics we would like to hear from you.

You will need:

  • detailed knowledge of Health and Safety legislation including COSHH and ESCC regulations in relation to the safe handling and storage of chemicals
  • knowledge of safe working practices in relation to the handling and usage of hazardous equipment and tools
  • knowledge and understanding of the education sector and/or experience of working within a school environment
  • a good level of general education to include GCSE maths and English (grade A-C) or equivalent. An A level in Physics, Biology or Chemistry or BTEC in Science or equivalent would be an advantage.
  • experience of working as part of a team

You will be responsible for:

  • supporting teaching staff and students in the ordering, maintaining, and organising supplies for lessons and the routine health and safety of equipment and work areas
  • assisting with clearing classrooms/equipment/work areas after lessons including return of resources to appropriate storage
  • organising, maintaining and ordering stock where required, including preparing orders for suppliers, and direct purchase of supplies where necessary
  • managing the supervision of the Science Technician
