Senior Science Technician job summary

The Senior Science Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining laboratories, managing resources and supporting the preparation of materials and equipment for practical work. They will also contribute to the development of systems and processes that promote a safe, well-resourced and engaging learning environment for all students. The successful candidate will be a knowledgeable, flexible and well-organised individual with the ability to lead and support a team of technicians where required. They will demonstrate initiative, attention to detail and a commitment to supporting outstanding science education. Strong communication skills will be essential in working effectively with staff, students and external agencies.

We are looking for someone who is: Dynamic, self-motivated and well organised An effective leader able to manage and support technical staff and collaborate with teaching colleagues Skilled in preparing and maintaining equipment and resources for practical science Knowledgeable about health and safety requirements within a laboratory setting A strong communicator, both verbally and in writing, with excellent organisational skills
