The successful candidate will be joining CET at an exciting time, as we continue to build on our successes and move forward on our journey to establish ourselves as one of the highest performing MATs in the North of England.

This is an excellent opportunity to join The Whitehaven Academy at a pivotal time for its future. There has been significant financial investment to redevelop the school which moved into its state-of-the-art new building in 2022 and new sports facilities added in 2023. The school continues to expand, and we were again oversubscribed for Year 7 admissions in September 2024.

We are looking for an outstanding candidate to provide general support to our Science department. The successful candidate will have:-

  • a good standard of education, relevant NVQ2/3 or experience in a similar discipline,
  • a recognised science qualification at Level 3 would be desirable,
  • experience or knowledge in a science environment, with related practical skills,
  • an awareness of Health and Safety,
  • the ability to relate well to young people,
  • the ability to work as part of a team,
  • the ability to coordinate and manage their own workload,
  • be self-motivated and reliable.

Working 38 weeks term time plus 2 weeks during school closure
