We are seeking a Senior Site Officer to provide a comprehensive service at Merritts Brook Academy, covering premises security, lighting, heating, cleaning, general maintenance, plant operation, and porter/handy person duties.

Key responsibilities:

Reporting to the Estates Business Partner, this post holder will be accountable for:

  • Conduct routine testing and maintenance of fire alarms, emergency lighting, and firefighting equipment to ensure health, safety, and compliance standards are met.
  • Maintain security of the academy premises, including key holding duties, alarm monitoring, and liaising with security services.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks such as plumbing, joinery, painting, plastering, and minor electrical work.
  • Oversee and coordinate contractors on site, ensuring work is completed to the required standards.
  • Organise and prioritise day-to-day tasks, acting as the main site contact when the Estates Business Partner is unavailable.

Pay range:

SCP 18-22 - £31,537.00 - £33,699.00

37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Maths & English GCSE or equivalent or willing to work towards
  • Relevant maintenance/trade qualification or willingness to work towards
  • IOSH or recognised equivalent Health and Safety qualification
  • Experience of a range of caretaking and cleaning duties
