Senior Teacher/ Assistant Head Teacher job summary
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Senior Teacher to be part of our supportive and dedicated senior leadership team from Easter 2026, or September 2026..
About the Role:
Teaching responsibility (Salary negotiable) with Leadership paid 1 day per week.
We are looking for someone who:
- ⮚ Has recent, successful experience in the classroom and is looking for an opportunity to take the next step in their leadership career.
- ⮚ Able to create a stimulating and inviting learning environment adapted to suit the needs of all pupils in their own classroom and across the whole school
- ⮚ Has the skills to lead, improve and sustain academic achievement for all children
- ⮚ Has high expectations for children’s learning and behaviour, and can foster collaborative working
- ⮚ Someone who is up to date with current research around Quality First Teaching in EYFS, KS1 and KS2, specifically Rosenshine's pedagogy.
- ⮚ Has the ability to develop and foster effective relationships with all stakeholders and external agencies and is an excellent communicator.
- ⮚ Is excited and keen to experience leading a team, developing the vision, and having the drive to successful continuous and evolving school development.
- ⮚ Supportive of the ethos of a Church and Trust school.
- ⮚ Has a strong sense of belonging to Barby CE Primary and will support the headteacher by embracing opportunities to be involved in wider school community engagement.
- ⮚ Is able to think strategically and has a solution based approach to school development.
