What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Senior Teaching Assistant to join our outstanding team and contribute to the inclusive, child-centred learning environment we pride ourselves on.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support planning, delivery, and assessment of lessons, including covering classes during teacher absence
- Prepare and deliver lessons independently under a system of supervision, using ICT and communication aids effectively
- Manage and develop a specialist area within the school as agreed by SLT
- Collaborate with and manage Learning Support Assistants to support teaching and learning
- Provide personal care and appropriate medical interventions following school procedures
Key Requirements:
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, GCSE grade A – C or equivalent in Literacy and Numeracy
- Meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualification, willingness to complete within the first year in post.
- Training in relevant learning strategies – literacy, TEACCH
- Makaton or other sign language accreditation
- Experience of working with children with a range of disabilities including autism
