  • Working Weeks: 52 weeks per year

Great Marlow School is seeking to appoint Sessional Rowing Coaches who have outstanding technical understanding as well as top class crew management skills, to help deliver and build on the school’s vision for rowing.

The successful candidates need to have the passion, drive and commitment to help contribute to a high-performance rowing squad developing athletes to go on and compete for National Medals in various boat types.

The role requires a flexible approach to working with attendance at Head and Regatta racing as well as weekend training.

Great Marlow School Boat Club (GMSBC)

Great Marlow School Boat Club (GMSBC) was re-established in 2008 and is known for its competitiveness in rowing at national and international level. The club has enjoyed substantial successes at all of the National Events including winning 1st Eights at the Schools Head, Winning Championship Boys Quads at the Scullery Head and over twenty students gaining International Selection in the since 2012.

The club has around 120 members from Year 8 to Year 13, boys and girls, who train on the river at Marlow, a 20 minute walk from the school.

Great Marlow School is a large co-educational secondary school located in the town of Marlow, Buckinghamshire. The school has around 1,450 students aged 11-19, with over 200 attending the sixth form.

Founded in 1961, the school converted to academy status in 2011 and in the last six years has invested £9 million in developing the school facilities including a state of the art sports centre, sixth form centre and performing arts accommodation. The Redgrave Sports Centre was named after former pupil and Olympic rower Sir Steve Redgrave, he opened in the centre in May 2013. The school and the sports centre are a 'hub' of the local community and host events and activities throughout the evenings, weekends and school holidays.
