Site Assistant job summary

Site Assistant37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, working a two week alternating shift pattern of Monday to Friday 6.30am to 2.30pm and 11.00am to 7.00pm (with a 36 minute unpaid lunch break each day). Flexibility regarding the start/finish times will be required to cover colleague’s holidays. Grade C – Step 1 - £24,405pa and 24 days holiday, plus 12% shift allowance of £2,928.60. Total actual salary £27,333.60 pa and 24 days holiday plus bank holidays.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking Site Assistant to join our existing Site Team in maintaining the school site in order to provide a clean and safe environment for all users of the school.

The successful candidate will work with the site team ensuring general repairs and maintenance are carried out. You will need to be able to use your initiative and problem solve whilst ensuring that health and safety regulations are adhered to. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our established site team at Deer Park School.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Show initiative, be proactive, have good organisational and time management skills
  • Be a team player and be a member of our school community
  • Be able to work in a flexible manner to support the needs of the school
  • Take responsibility for security and be a key holder
  • Undertake a range of repairs and maintenance and ensure lighting and heating are operational.
  • Ensure that a high level of confidentiality and professionalism is maintained
  • Carry out the compliance checks as required (Full training provided)

Specific trade strengths in any area would be an advantage but not essential. Lifting, moving and handling of furniture and deliveries also form an important part of the job. Full health and safety training will be provided.
