Site Assistant / Caretaker job summary
Full Time, 37 hours per week
Scale C £27,738 (including 20% unsociable shift allowance)
+ employer pension contributions currently 18%
We are looking for a practically minded individual with a good sense of humour to join our friendly Site Management team.
Responsibilities will include health and safety checks, tests and monitoring, porterage of deliveries, general maintenance and repairs, grounds maintenance including grass and hedge cutting using machinery, setup and striking furniture for exams and external lettings in our large spaces including The Barn, our new event space and performance venue.
A hard worker and team player, you will need good communication and organisational skills and be able to work to your own initiative. We would be particularly interested to hear from you if you have a trade background in mechanical, plumbing or electrical works.
You will be a key member of a team focused on maintaining a high-quality learning environment for students. This role will involve lifting and moving.
We use computer-based helpdesk and job allocation systems so basic IT skills are required for this role. Job specific training will be provided if required.
Working Hours: Alternate weeks plus ½ hour unpaid per day for lunch:
- Week 1 - 6.30am – 2.30pm (2pm finish Friday)
- Week 2 - 1pm – 9pm (1.30pm start Friday)
- Holidays - 8am – 4pm Monday to Friday
Salary: £23,115 + 20% shift allowance totalling £27,738 per annum
