This role will be based at Queen Katherine School but will support other schools within the Southern Hub, including Castle Park School, with responsibilities within the remit of the role. The successful candidate would therefore be able to travel between sites.

Part of Cumbria Education Trust, The Queen Katherine School is seeking a Site Assistant to join our dedicated, hardworking site team.

The successful applicant will support the Site Manager in the effective maintenance, security and safe operation of school premises.

This varied role involves work on security, maintenance, repair and development as well as tasks to uphold high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across school site/s and grounds.

As Site Assistant you will support the Site Manager in the completion of compliance related tasks (e.g. fire alarm testing) and ensure that information and records are accurate and up to date.

The successful candidate will be a practical person able to undertake repair and maintenance tasks. The role would suit a time served trades person or someone with strong DIY skills. Reliability, flexibility and adaptability are essential, as is a full driving licence and a clear understanding of health and safety procedures and practices.

This role requires the ability to work effectively as part of a team and to communicate in a calm and courteous manner with a wide range of people (e.g. students, staff, external contractors, external customers).

Occasional travel to other schools within the trust will be required as will an occasional requirement for later attendance/weekend working to support special events.
